Screen Printing since 1998
established in 1998, NBN Sports started as a small family owned custom basketball uniform business in San Jose, California. as the name grew, so did the uniform offerings and NBN started making uniforms for a variety of sports. but the fans wanted more, so we gave it to them, and started creating something we like to call “fan-wear” – warm-ups, custom t-shirts, sweatshirts, bags, and more all to match the uniforms, and keep the spirit of the team alive.now everyone shows up in style!
this led the way to the expansion of custom clothing, promotional apparel, promotional items and swag of all kinds. -we silkscreen, embroider, digitally print, emboss/deboss, you name it! we are proud to be of service of any organization - sports club, school club, corporate, church, and any family/friends reunion!
we offer a variety of printing techniques to suit your specific needs and preferences. Let's explore our printing options
Screen Printing Process
Screen printing is a popular printing technique that involves transferring ink onto a substrate using a mesh screen, ink, and a squeegee. The process can be broken down into the following steps
*the process was merged into 6 main steps.
design
Create the desired design or image that will be printed.
This can be done digitally using graphic design software, using a self-serve mockup software, or by hand-drawing the design.
screen
Stretch a mesh screen tightly over a frame. Apply a layer of photosensitive emulsion or a stencil film to the screen. Remove the exposed areas of the design, leaving the desired stencil on the screen.
setup
Mount the screen onto a screen printing press and place registration marks on the substrate and screen for accurate alignment during printing.
printing
Use a squeegee to pull or push the ink across the screen, forcing it through the open areas of the stencil and onto the substrate. Repeat this process for each color or layer of the design onto the garment.
curing
After printing, the ink needs to be cured to adhere permanently to the substrate. The curing process can be done through heat, UV light, or air drying, depending on the type of ink used.
packaging
Inspect the printed products for quality and consistency. Once the ink is fully cured, package the finished items for distribution.
